Belching Beaver Brewery Dia de los Deftones – American Pale Lager at 5% ABV | 15 IBU

Belching Beaver Brewery Dia de los Deftones – American Pale Lager at 5% ABV | 15 IBU (C$4.05 at Collective, 473 ml, packaged on 23-Aug-2019, acquired 31-Oct-2019, reviewed 11-Nov-2019)

Appearance: slightly hazy pale gold with one fat finger of fizzy white head diminishing rapidly to nothing, no lacing. (2/5) Aroma: lime, crackery pale malt, grass, light plastic band-aid. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-low bitter. (6/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lightly tart mild bitter finish. (3/5)

Pretty unimpressive in general, and by far the least enjoyable out of the more than a dozen BB beers I’ve had so far. It would have been a fairly bland lager-and-lime even without off flavours, but the little phenol edge was particularly unwelcome. Beautiful label art, but that’s about the best you can say about it. (11/20)
