Container Brewing Forty Footer – American IPA at 6.2% ABV (C$3.82 at Collective, 473 ml, no packaging date or best before, acquired 2-Dec-2021, reviewed 18-Dec-2021)
Appearance: slightly hazy medium gold with some particulate, two fat fingers of loose white head, good retention, minimal soapy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: pine, caramel, citrus. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (4/5)
The label says batch information on the bottom of the can, but no such luck, so no idea as to age (but the particulate is suggestive). It calls itself a West Coast IPA, and I guess I can live with that categorization. It could stand to be danker, though. Or brighter. Or, really, just about anything more, except for the bitterness, which is adequate. A bit forgettable. (14/20)

Our beer is never ever older than a few months, we PLOW through it. If your can didn’t have a batch code on the bottom, that’s a bummer as it would seem that the date coder missed it. The fun of hiring canning companies, a lot less control of those things than if we owned our own line.
Sorry to hear you got some chunkies, but as a very small brewery (20HL brewhouse) that does NO filtering, sometimes a few cans sneak out at the end of a run with some trub in them. Not ideal, but really only detracts from the look of the beer, won’t effect taste much.
Come by the brewery some time, get you a beer “on me” to make up for it.

PS Your glass is a bit dirty in the “stem” in the photo….lots of bubbles on there. That’s generally caused by not enough rinse-aid in your dishwasher.
Hey Dan, thanks for the comment. I should clarify (no pun intended) that I’m not offended by chunky beer, but in this case I assumed that the presence of particulate atypical to the style spoke to age. You’re quite right that’s not necessarily the case, particularly for smaller batches, so I stand corrected.
I hand-wash my glasses, so it’s entirely possible that they aren’t always perfectly clean, but I don’t think that’s what you’re seeing here. Long complicated back story, but I’ve played with a lot of lighting setups for photography, and in particular for streamlining my post-processing, and the setup I now use involves hot lights and no flash. So, sometimes the exposure duration is long enough that the carbonation shows as a track or trail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
