Appearance: opaque pale gold with one finger of loose white head diminishing rapidly to a thin ring, minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: peaches, mango, wheat, light citrus, floral, band-aid. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate tart, light bitter. (6/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate carbonation, short duration light tart finish. (3/5)
Hmmm… my opinion of this diminished as the pint progressed. The initial taste, of the lees out of the bottle, was frankly awesome, verging more on puréed peaches than on mango. As the beer warmed, though, that dropped off rapidly, and the last third or so of the glass carried a distinct burnt rubber / bandaid aroma. I dunno – it’s only 4.9% ABV, so drink it fast? (12/20)
