Microbrasserie Les Trois Mousquetaires Petite IPA – Session IPA at 4.6% ABV | 30 IBU (C$4.27 at Collective, 473 ml, packaged on 30-Mar-2023, acquired 4-Jul-2023, reviewed 1-Aug-2023)

Appearance: hazy straw with two fingers of loose off-white head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, no lacing. (3/5) Aroma: tropical fruit, citrus, oats, hint of pine. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-low bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium-light body, lively carbonation, off-dry short duration finish. (4/5)

Nice one. Pleasantly flavourful despite the low(ish) ABV. The label says it’s hopped with Citra Cryo and Mosaic Cryo, with the same again in the dry hop, in addition to regular Citra and Mosaic. Well, duh, of course I’m going to like that. That lively carbonation is fairly nice, especially at the front end. However, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword in that it seems to be necessary, but doesn’t necessarily sustain: as I’m getting to the end of the pint, it’s tending to go a little flat, and that’s making it feel a little flaccid. I’m not penalizing it for that, but will note that this is one that you should drink fairly quickly – good thing it’s crushable. (15/20)

This will be my 5,607th unique Untappd check-in.
