Appearance: clear pale amber with three fingers of rocky ivory head, excellent retention and patchy soapy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: slightly dank pine, citrus, grainy caramel. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (4/5)
That’s a bit more like it – at least I can smell the Citra in this “Citra” labelled beer, unlike the last one. Well, sort of. I mean, the citrus is there, even if it’s not out front. Plus, the bottle is dated, so yay? Huh. What’s the world coming to, when your SIPA, with half the ABV of your big boy beers, is the most fun in your lineup? Oh, wait, they called it “Funner”, didn’t they? Who knew it was so true? (15/20)
