Appearance: hazy particulate-laden deep gold with one fat finger of rocky white head, good retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: doughy yeast, biscuity malt, citrus, resiny pine. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (3/5)
Sometimes you take a total flyer and it pays off. This… well… didn’t. It’s not bad, just a bit doughy. OK, really doughy. Really, really doughy. Did I mention it’s doughy? Because it’s doughy. Just so we’re clear on that. Once you get past that… eventually… there’s some citrus and pine. And it’s nicely bittered, especially in the finish. But so very doughy. (13/20)
