Appearance: opaque deep gold with one fat finger of loose white head diminishing rapidly to nothing, no lacing. (2/5) Aroma: citrus, grainy malt, band-aid. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild tart, low bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp lightly tart finish. (3/5)
Zero expectations here. I’ve had competence from these guys, but nothing great. The unpleasantly murky appearance and rapid descent of the head did little to improve my expectations. Add the slight band-aid note upon first sniffing, and, well, things start looking pretty grim. And yet, it’s not entirely without merit. Despite the rapid loss of the head, the carbonation remains sufficient throughout, and the finish is reasonably crisp and pleasantly tart. (12/20)
