Trailway Brewing Co. Dunder – Session IPA at 4.8% ABV (Trade – thanks Norm, 473 ml, no packaging date or best before, acquired 28-Jul-2020, reviewed 28-Jul-2020)
Appearance: opaque pale gold with one finger of loose white head, short retention and minimal spotty lacing. (3/5) Aroma: pineapple, citrus, oats, earth. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, juicy moderately bitter slightly astringent finish. (3/5)
Impressive intensity of aroma and flavour for such a low ABV beer, but the malt bill seems to be just a bit too light to support it, leading to a little astringency in the finish. It’s good, just a little unbalanced. (15/20)
