Melvin Brewing Melvin IPA American IPA at 7.5% ABV | 80 IBU (C$4.49 at Oak & Vine, 355 ml, no bottle date or best before, acquired 11-Mar-2017, reviewed 22-Mar-2017)

Appearance: clear pale amber with a large fluffy ivory head, good retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pithy grapefruit, tropical fruit, caramel and pale malt, pine. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry medium duration sticky bitter finish. (4/5)

Quite similar to their Hubert MPA (APA), except with a slightly more emphatic hop presence, and a beefier malt backbone. These guys don’t mess around – their APA is beefier than some IPAs, and their IPA is bigger than some DIPAs. I’m almost scared to try their DIPA… (No, not really.) (16/20)
