Whitetooth Brewing Company Icefields Belgian Inspired Pale Ale – Belgian Pale Ale at 6% ABV | 46 IBU

Whitetooth Brewing Company Icefields Belgian Inspired Pale Ale Belgian Pale Ale at 6% ABV | 46 IBU (C$7.79 at Collective, 650 ml, packaged on 18-Apr-2019, acquired 16-Jul-2019, reviewed 18-Jul-2019)

Appearance: clear pale amber with one finger of fine pale ivory head, good retention and moderate soapy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: coriander, biscuity malt, citrus, floral. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, medium duration slightly spicy finish. (3/5)

Definitely Belg-ish on the nose, and a little less so on the tongue. Though, to be fair, they’re not claiming it’s a Belgian Pale, just Belgian-inspired, and it’s definitely an interesting attempt at blending Belgian yeast and PNW hops. All in all, it’s OK, but I think a bit more American hop presence might’ve made it a bit more interesting. (14/20)
