Omnipollo Stars Azacca Citra Pale Ale – American Pale Ale at 5.5% ABV

Omnipollo Stars Azacca Citra Pale Ale – American Pale Ale at 5.5% ABV (C$5.95 at Collective, 330 ml, best before 2-Feb-2022, acquired 1-Oct-2021, reviewed 8-Oct-2021)

Appearance: hazy straw with one finger of fluffy white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim and ring, moderate droopy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: zesty citrus, caramel, tropical fruit, green & cooked vegetables. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate carbonation, short duration finish. (3/5)

Shocker, brewer notes say this is hopped with Azacca and Citra. Initially, the aroma reflected this, with a bright zesty citrus dominating. However, that faded relatively quickly, with caramel becoming more emphatic, and a vegetal note growing towards the end of the glass. Still fairly easy-drinking, but not one of Omnipollo’s better efforts. (14/20)

This will be my 5,079th unique Untappd check-in.
