Local Craft Beer Big Haze Energy – Triple IPA at 10% ABV | 10 IBU

Local Craft Beer Big Haze Energy – Triple IPA at 10% ABV | 10 IBU (C$8.25 at Collective, 473 ml, no packaging date or best before, acquired 4-Nov-2021, reviewed 26-Nov-2021)

Appearance: clear pale gold with a short, short-lived white head, no lacing. (3/5) Aroma: sweet boozy citrus, caramel, light pine. (6/10) Taste: high sweet, moderate-low bitter. (6/10) Palate: medium slick body, low carbonation, warming boozy finish. (3/5)

Hopped with Citra, Strata, and El Dorado. I’m not sure what’s supposed to be big here, the haze or the energy, but that’s a bit irrelevant, because neither actually is. What it is, is sweet. And boozy. And, well, disappointing. And I don’t know why you’d want to make your brewery un-Google-able, but they seem to have done just that: you can’t find it unless you add the hometown name. (12/20)

This will be my 5,137th unique Untappd check-in.
