Andina Brewing Company Añoro – American IPA at 7% ABV | 40 IBU

Andina Brewing Company Añoro – American IPA at 7% ABV | 40 IBU (C$4.27 at Collective, 473 ml, no packaging date or best before, acquired 2-Dec-2021, reviewed 14-Dec-2021)

Appearance: hazy straw with crazy blown out white head, moderate soapy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: melon, citrus, vinous grape, light pine, hint of white pepper. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate-lively carbonation, off-dry mild bitter finish. (3/5)

I knew it was going to be bad news when the can seal broke explosively, and sure enough, the ridiculous head rendered this thing essentially unpourable. I assumed it was infected, but in fact it smells and tastes pretty good: it’s double dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Citra, and that comes through loud and clear, with no real negatives. Maybe the brew didn’t go to completion and there were still viable yeast and digestible sugars when it was canned? One I’d like to try again some time. (14/20)

This will be my 5,158th unique Untappd check-in.
